The street is a road in a city or town, usually with buildings along one or both sides. It is a way for us to get from point A to point B with ease free from any obstacle.
However, the streets nowadays is where we can find a lot of different waste types such as trash, leaves, loose gravel, and dog mess which are contributors to pollution. The waste in the street can also stress people out when they are passing through because of bad looks and it can also be a hazard for all of us.
The MCCDC have united the cooperatives against this problem by organizing a street clean-up drive which was held on the 2nd of July 2022 at MC Briones which started at 5 o’clock in the morning. Different cooperatives participated during the event which started with the morning exercise to energize each individual in the street clean-up. As an active member of the MCCDC, the Mandaue City Public Market Vendors Multipurpose Cooperative also participated in the event. A number of our staff including our Aflatoun theatre guild helped out on keeping rubbish, debris and hazardous materials such as gravel, trash that can cause pollution or even cause accidents for motorists. MAVENCO’s participation in such activities helps ensure that our streets are clean, hygienic and can create a much more significant impact by looking visually pleasing.
