    The world was shook by a Pandemic Novel Corona Virus- 19. Hundreds of thousands were infected with the said virus with alarming trends of increase and mortality. Cebu Province was never spared from this epidemic. As a result the provincial and the local government mandated the implementation of lock downs, community quarantine, social distancing and cease of business operations in the locality to contain the spread of the virus. As a result millions of worker all over the country were affected especially with their financial sources to sustain their living.In response to the circumstances of the community, Mandaue City Public Market Vendors Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MAVENCO) took action to help the community especially its members to lessen the burden that the pandemic brought to the mass population.One of the community response program of MAVENCO is the donation of 500,000.00 pesos to the city government of Mandaue to help them with their operation in fighting the Pandemic. This donation was the consensus of the board of directors of MAVENCO through the suggestion of the top Management of the cooperative. MAVENCO also provided a freezer for Mandaue city for them to store the goods delivered to them for the food of the front liners. Aside from the donation MAVENCO exerted effort of being a supplier of the  raw goods for the food for the front liners of Mandaue City. Despite the threat of the pandemic, there are good souls and brave hearted staff of MAVENCO that volunteered to man the operation of the delivery of the goods for Mandaue City Government.

Our Warmest appreciation to the listed individuals who worked hard for the delivery of goods for Mandaue City Government despite the high risk and threat of the pandemic.MAVENCO also spent time, effort and money to help our members through distribution of relief goods to a wide range area coverage based on the area of multiple operation. A total of 3,300 members were the beneficiaries of the relief goods who received canned goods and rice. Below are the breakdown of goods received by our members:

This operation tulong of MAVENCO led by Daryl Daraog, Mary Jane Villegas, Arceli Asufra, the Branch Managers, Bookkeepers and other staff of MAVENCO. Despite the crisis, we never fear to help. Our aim is to be a consistent help to the community in good times or even in crisis. Furthermore, We would like to thank the support of the Board of Directors, the CEO and COO and those others not mentioned for their undying support for the fulfillment of our advocacy. MAVENCO, Helping you to prosper and survive in the face of any threat. We in the cooperative are optimistic that we will rise above this pandemic and "Together, We will heal as one."

Mandaue City Public Market Vendors Multi-purpose Cooperative (MAVENCO) conducted its 1st Swine Summit this year. The training was held on July 13, 2019 at Citymall Danao, F. Ralota St., Danao City, Cebu. There were 53 Swine Financing Program (SFP) members from North Cebu Area who participated in the said event. Since 2017, Business Development Center (BDC) team decided and motivated to continue this kind of training for the benefit of the SFP members. 
The Swine Summit was created to convey some important practices and hog raising management that would help the members in strengthening their ideas and skills in hog raising. For the past years, the MAVENCO already gave trainings with the topic Basic Swine Raising Management (2017), and Disease Prevention and Management (2018). This year the topic was Swine Feeding and Nutrition. One of Pigrolac’s (UNAHCO, Inc.)  feeds nutritionists, Dr. Remylene Joy D. Achas was the speaker of the training. She emphasized on the effects of the right kind feed formulation and nutrition to the growth of the hogs as well as the consumer’s health in the direction for the promotion of safe feeds for safer food. She also included the current issues of the Swine Industry in some country like the African Swine Fever.

During the training, the coop awarded 5 outstanding SFP members namely; Jurie Quirol, Delia Pitogo, Primitivo Tundag, Rodulfo Zosa and Ronald Ylanan. Each awardee received a plaque and cash prize. The participants were overwhelmed by the freebies and raffle items given by the Pigrolac.Furthermore, the success of the training would not be possible without this following personnel from the BDC team: Sean B. Ybanez (BDC Head), Hermie Alo, Mark Salatan, Rechelle Isanan, Dave Samblaceno, Hazel Berdos, Maria Jennifer Canque, Antonio Marayan Jr., Joel Mahumot, Darel Pinez and Rechmund Rojo. Moreover, in special mention to the branch managers; Rizamae Ando, Alpermabuen Solatorio, Ma. Jelly Tapan, and Account Officer Carmen Quinones.
Our ever supportive COO, Mrs. Emelinda B. Cruz gave her warm heartfelt message to the participants and to the sponsors of the training. We, the MAVENCO wanted to extend our sincere appreciation to the CityMall Commercial Center, Inc. for the venue and to Pigrolac Staffs, Ranulfo Lumanao III, Eric and Christian Alan Gallano for their generosity in giving a lot of freebies, sponsoring the Tarpaulin and name tags during the training.           As stated  in our mission to strongly respond to the socio-economic needs of the community, the  Mandaue City Public Market Vendors Multi-purpose Cooperative (MAVENCO) conducted a Soap Making(Fabric Conditioner, Detergent Powder and Dish washing liquid) Livelihood Training for the members of Bogo. It was held last June 21, 2019, at Avocado Center, Brgy. Siocon, Bogo City.  This training was conducted in response to the livelihood need of the association in Bogo City, who was also a member of the MAVENCO.
         With the help of the ingredients from the Mandaue City Cooperative Development Council, we had demonstrated the procedure on how to make a Detergent Powder, Fabcon and Dishwashing Liquid.The recipients got involved in mixing the ingredients during the actual demonstration. The finished products were given to the participants as recognition for their active participation.Bogo Satellite Office manager, Mr. Regiel Arcamo and his AOs, Mr. Romel Lepanas were thankful for the participation and determination of the recipients to learn the procedure and use it as their livelihood project. MAVENCO will continue to help in uplifting the lives of these members and follow through to see the result of the training. Hoping that this will be the first step to reach their vision in life!!!         Rice is the staple food for the Filipinos, and everyday family consumes a minimum of one (1) kilo a day. This constant demand for the product could give a livelihood opportunity for the members of the cooperative. Thus, the cooperative planned to introduce Rice Business ideas to the members in Cebu South Area.The Mandaue City Public Market Vendor's Multi-purpose Cooperative (MAVENCO), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture Regional Office 07, conducted the "Rice Business for Wholesalers and Retailers" for the members of Carcar branch. It was held in front of MAVENCO Carcar branch at Lou Building, Dapdap St., Carcar City last May 18, 2019. The training was given to the members who were willing and interested of having this kind of business. We also invited those who were engaging in Sari-sari store business who were not yet into rice retailing. The facilitator (DAVID E. AMRINTO) introduced the production process as well as its economic importance in the Philippines. He also discussed the steps on how to register a Rice Business to avoid any legal problems. Participants were given some contact information of rice traders and suppliers within the Region, that offers an affordable price with a good variety of rice. The facilitator provided hard copies of the module to the thirty-two (32) attentive participants. With in the session of the training, the attendees raised questions which were an indication of their interest to be in this business. The training was conducted, mainly to give them an idea about the Rice Business and to encourage them to use their learnings for their future businesses.
